The Accounting Career Awareness Program (ACAP) of the San Francisco Bay Area is one example of organizational strategic partnerships. ACAP is LIFE’s sister organization and is a pipeline for middle school students that transition to high school. The primary objective of ACAP is to increase the understanding of accounting and business career opportunities among high school students of color in the public and private school systems. ACAP revolves around a one-week enrichment summer residency program for high school students of color. The ACAP residency week exposes students selected for the program to accounting and finance professionals, corporate office visits, workshops, team building activities and a case study that allows the students to leverage their learnings through practical application.
